Recently, thanks to a game recommendation from Bart Bonte, I discovered several wonderful video games from Adam "Atomic" Saltsman. I shared them on my Shaarli there: chezsoi.org/shaarli/?searchtags=AdamAtomicSaltsman.

The games are all very are all very short, but also very well designed. I had so much fun! ❤️ …

Ascent by Johan Peitz

Crashed on a desolate but mysterious planet you find yourself eye to eye with an ancient civilisation. Explore the planet, find powerful upgrades, and uncover its secrets.

Reminded me of the 1992 video game "Flashback".
A nice short platformer adventure.

Type Help by William Rous

A puzzle-mystery game inspired by Return of the Obra Dinn, Her Story, Unheard and The Roottrees are Dead.
Investigate the files on an old computer that once belonged to a mysterious outside agent.
The files detail the gruesome story of Galley House, a case that was said to be unsolvable.

I LOVED that game 😍

The aesthetics, the clever investigation mechanics, the need to take serious notes outside the game to the solve it...

A real blast! A few hours of fun detective work.

Thank you Bart Bonte for mentioning this game among his top-10 web games of 2025.

Many thanks also to @dfabulich for sharing a walkthrough that helped me access the final 2 scenes.

PS: For another great free indie investigation game with some similar vibes, I recommend File://maniac by BornFrustrated

Clues By Sam

Your goal is to figure out who is criminal and who is innocent.
Based on what you know, tap on a suspect to choose if they are innocent or criminal. They might reveal a new clue.
You cannot guess! Just like in real life, you can't convict someone based on a 50/50 hunch. There is always a logical next choice, even when you think there isn't!
